AIMS:
- To create a flagship product for RISOTTO
- To design a product line has sustained and direct profit potential.
- To offer a new service that exemplifies the trend for tailor-made, creative printing.
- To increase customer engagement with brand
- To demonstrate the benefits of local, hand-made products.
DESIGN:
The design of a new method of binding, unique to JOTTA will allow the customer to edit and re-assemble continuously, and curate every element of their book; optimising usability and creating a trademark element whilst ensuring no other products are compatible.
DESIGN FOR LONGEVITY:
Re-fills and new additional elements can be purchased independently from the SUPPLY STORE, to encourage customers to design something to last, evolving with their behaviours, and that facilitates and promotes re-use.
CUSTOMISATION:
Offering customers the ability to customise a product, will elevate engagement and build brand advocacy; they are likely to visit the website more frequently, stay on each page longer and increase profit potential.
Equally, customisation will help differentiate the product from competitors at a time when the Internet is rapidly making it easier for customers to compare the prices of products with standard features.
With each JOTTA produced, customers have shared real-time design preferences that go beyond current market research.
With the proliferation of social media and online publishing, styles and trends change faster than ever. Having the means to produce (and hence adapt quickly) alongside this key customer data will allow me to fine-tune a whole body of products and stay one step ahead of the competition.
Combinations are what’s on offer, using the ‘Customer Choice Building’ method to limit how much customisation can be achieved, and retain the design attributes of the product.
A premium level of customisable features can be selected (embossing a name on a cover for example, or integrating corporate branding internally), but only within designated areas.
In addition to making the design process enjoyable, all elements much be seamless; from buying process, payment, through to packaging and delivery.
AIMS:
- To offer customers a simple and attractive product starting point, as opposed to a blank canvas.
- To offer a clear, visual, and easy-to-use online design process, as opposed to clunky, slow and complicated services.
- To curate and limit product selection; as customers can reject too many options.
RETURNS:
Demand for customization can fall dramatically if customers think they could be stuck with something they don’t like. Although, early adopters of customisation products have shown lower return rates, and RISOTTO’s current return rate is 2%.
...Offering customers the option of returning most goods, within 30 days.
