Photographers Logo/ Watermark

My friend Anne Wyman recently contacted me as she needed a logo that could also work as a watermark on her photos.

I asked her a few questions, whether she wanted a strong, powerful business logo, or something a bit more friendly, handwritten and feminin.

She wanted it bold but not over powering, I sent her a few of my ideas to see which she preferred.

I really like this font, it neat and bold yet quite feminin, I like it however I found it rally difficult finding a font to complement it.

This font is called cocogoose, I really like the soft edges, personally I think this font looks best all in lowercase.

This logo was going into more of the business feel, this font is called code, I like it, however when I typed out Annes name I really don't like the way the font is really close together on the accender line, the 'wym' almost join together.

I got this idea of framing the logo with crop marks online, you sometimes see this when you take a photo, but it also reminds me of framing a photo. I sent Anne this idea however I felt it is a bit predictable and over used. The font I used was Futura.

This was the last one that I came up with, I found this font online and thought it would be perfect for Anne, as I know Annes personality I think it is easier to create something for her. The font is called quick sand, I really like the type family and think the dashed type is different.
Anne actually preferred this logo and this is the one she wants to go with.

Here are just a couple of screen shots of her latest work to show the logo in context used as a watermark.

After sending the logo to Anne and asking her to try it out on a few of her photo's she asks whether she could have the dotted lines thicker as it didn't stand out well on some photos, I took the request on board and changed it for her.
The main reason she wanted the logo designing is so she could use it within he prom photography below are some screenshots of it used in real life context

Fuzzy Logic Rebranding Competition

Recently I got an e-mail for the chance to rebrand 'fuzzy logic' an indie club night in Wire Leeds. Above is an image of there current brand and personally I think this is one of the best and most eye catching flyers of freshers, it is also a good night out.

I started to research into other designs that wire have had and there is a lot of colour in all of them. I really like the colours used in the one above, its a simple yet effective flyer/poster.

Here is an old fuzzy logic poster that has been illustrated

I wanted my design to be quite illustrated yet I didn't know what to draw so I stared to look into hand drawn/ illustrated type. Above are two examples that I looked at by Kate Moross.

I don't want it to just be type, I want there to be other elements of the poster/flyer. I remember the v fest advertising stuff from last year I didn't like the use of type however I did admire the use of illustration and how they sum a festival up perfectly in one poster.

Molly doing her entry

I started to draw out my design by hand adding in the elements one by one

This is the design drawn, scanned in and put into illustrator

I decided I didn't want to go crazy with the colour as I have noticed a lot of freshers posters do this, so I decided to do the opposite and stick with two colours. The colour is actually more of a mint/teal green. I chose this colour as I think it looks quite fresh.

The final entry I sent off.
