Fuzzy Logic Rebranding Competition

Recently I got an e-mail for the chance to rebrand 'fuzzy logic' an indie club night in Wire Leeds. Above is an image of there current brand and personally I think this is one of the best and most eye catching flyers of freshers, it is also a good night out.

I started to research into other designs that wire have had and there is a lot of colour in all of them. I really like the colours used in the one above, its a simple yet effective flyer/poster.

Here is an old fuzzy logic poster that has been illustrated

I wanted my design to be quite illustrated yet I didn't know what to draw so I stared to look into hand drawn/ illustrated type. Above are two examples that I looked at by Kate Moross.

I don't want it to just be type, I want there to be other elements of the poster/flyer. I remember the v fest advertising stuff from last year I didn't like the use of type however I did admire the use of illustration and how they sum a festival up perfectly in one poster.

I started to draw out my design by hand adding in the elements one by one

This is the design drawn, scanned in and put into illustrator

I decided I didn't want to go crazy with the colour as I have noticed a lot of freshers posters do this, so I decided to do the opposite and stick with two colours. The colour is actually more of a mint/teal green. I chose this colour as I think it looks quite fresh.

The final entry I sent off.
