Cheese Society Freshers Fair

The freshers fair proved a great success, we had over 100 people sign up for the cheese society, it had a lot of interest. It was a good day, now we just need to send out e-mails and decide on our first event. 

Tearibly Cheesy Puns Poster

Also to go in the freshers fair we have decided to make a 'tearibly cheesy puns' poster where people tear of cheese puns as we thought we would add a bit of humour into it. 

Hollie made me this quick brief and she only wanted the poster to be very simple. 

I sketched out some type scanned it in and live traced it on illustrator, I wanted to keep it quite free hand and fun.

Keeping in with the colours and the theme I went for the blue I used in the Facebook header, for the  text to be in orange to fit in with the logo. I am happy with the way it looks and Hollie was really pleased with it too. 

Cheese Society Poster and Leaflet

The cheese society needs posters and leaflets to hand out at the freshers fair, I want to keep with the same hand drawn theme, so I need to start drawing some ideas and getting some inspiration. 

My main inspiration for the poster and leaflet has been from Steph Baxter 

I love her hand drawn type and her use of colour

This is the poster although it is very simple this is all we needed, I wanted to keep it very minimal to make the logo stand out as much as possible. 

Here are just some starts of ideas for the leaflet, on the leaflet we want to mention the events, I want to make this as eye catching and fun as possible, above is the first sketch I did.

I want to involve some more colour in the leaflet other than orange and yellow. 

I was inspired for the 'wensleydale wednesdays' by some of Kate Moross' type but now I have scanned it in i really don't like it. however I am happy with the 'up coming events' bit. 

After many more times scanning in designs and re doing them, changing colours ect I finally came up with this design. I showed it to holly and she is really happy with the way it looks. This will be the leaflets however we are also going to print some larger ones as posters. 

LCA Cheese Society Logo

I have been approached to design all of the material for the LCA cheese society, I spoke to Hollie the head of the society and she said she wants to logo to be something fun, maybe including the classic image of cheese (the cheese with the holes) and for it to say LCA cheese society or Leeds College of Cheese. 

Below are some sketches of some initial ideas 

Here are the main two ideas that I came up with and sent to Hollie, i just sent her the designs as I will add colour later. 

She said she loved them both but think the top one will work better, but LCA would be needed to added somewhere. 

These were the two final ideas I decided to go for the top one even though the font is clearer on the second one, having hand drawn type ties it all together. 

The cheese society also needed a header for their Facebook page

Hollie thought of a cheese pun she wanted 'it's going to be legenDAIRY' i drew this out scanned it in and live traced it on illustrator. 

We then decided what colours would be best, Hollie decided on the yellow as it matches the logo to keep it consistant.
